At our 2021 Open Data Day celebration, the city released a Racial Equity Storymap that tells the history of race in the City of Charleston through maps.
This strategy is the result of our participation in the Bloomberg Philanthropies City Data Alliance and is intended to serve as a three-year vision and actionable plan to advance our city’s use of data and improve outcomes.

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021 Charleston City Council adopted an open data policy to memorialize our committment to an open and transparent government.
The mission of the Mayor's Office of Innovation is to foster a culture that values collaboration to drive resident-focused and data-driven solutions that improve delivery of services. We believe that empowering the use of data for our organization and community can transform the way we work and improve the programs and services we provide.
